At 2.15am tonorrow morning, myself, some other teachers and a lot of year 7s head off to France - with that country having just upped its Corona virus level to epidemic. Additionally, the weather doesn't look very good and it seems the ferry crossing is going to be quite rough also. But I am massively looking forward to it.
I have maintained weight this week, staying at just over 13 stone (13st 1lb), so I'm quite happy, even if I didn't lost the 2lbs to make it a stone since I started my journey. And although I am going to be spending a week in a French chateaux, where I don't have control over the food dished out, I do have control over me and this, I believe, will see me through the week without a hiccup or excess.
I haven't, according to my Fitbit, done many steps today (9,573 to be precise), but I haven't stopped all day, so what I have lacked in steps, I have made up for in general workouts through ironing and tidying the house and the rest of the every day stuff that we all do. I wonder how many calories you burn doing 3 hours of ironing?
I have had 2 beers this evening, and I did have a bagel this morning, but that is the extent of my unhealthy food and drink, the rest of the day has been good and I've stuck to my plan relatively closely.
Although I said that I needed to get more sleep, this hasn't materialised just yet, having woken at 6 this morning to make my wife's breakfast because she was going to a conference and now staying up until stupid o'clock in the morning to go on a trip to france for 6 days. Hardly a great start to the 'I must go to sleep earlier' edict, preached so vociferously only two days ago. But that's the way of the world.
So here is to a great week in France, a two pound loss by the end of the week and 6 days of getting to know the kids just that little bit better!
Thanks for reading.
Stay strong. Stay honest.
Sean.
