Day 60: Two Months In.

seanfit1973

Two months have gone quickly and it's more time than I've ever spent trying to live a healthier lifestyle. There have been some very large highs and some very low lows but I'm still going and still determined to go from fat to fit this year.

Two months ago I weighed 13 stone 13lbs and my belly stuck out a mile. I struggled to bend over to tie my shoelaces and had let my fitness go. I was eating takeaways a few times a week, drinking beer and whisky daily and was regularly eating 2-4 packets of crisps a day.

Fast forward 60 days and I can now run for 30 minutes without stopping on the treadmill, I weigh 13 stone 1 lbs (that's almost a stone - holy moly), a loss of 12lbs, I can tie my shoe laces, notch my trousers without sucking my gut in and I regularly exceed 15,000 steps a day. The dog is also much fitter and happier.

I have failed a few times in the last 60 days, but I've always got straight back on it the next day and not allowed it, this time, to derail me or stop my journey. I'm sure that there will be a few more failures along the way, but I'm honest enough to accept this and to know that I will learn the lesson of it honestly and try to not make the same mistakes.

I have had a huge amount of support at home and on healthunlocked.com without whose messages of hope and positivity that have helped me to continue when I've felt like giving up, I think I would have done. To those people, I thank you.

Taking out a subscription to Men's Health magazine has also helped me to eat healthier and ensure my exercising and routine is suited to my age. I'm not 20 any more and have not always, in the past, remembered this.

Along the way I've gained a few friends and a few people who regularly read this blog, so hopefully my journey is helping others in theirs. It's been time consuming and sometimes I've wanted to quit writing or not write for one day, but without this I don't think I would have continued my journey or I would have made more mistakes than I actually have. The ability to reflect on my day, my routine, my life choices and the changes I've made have helped me to remain on track and this is why I love doing it.

Another difference this time is the drive I've had. I've come in to this determined to succeed, determined not to give up. Other times I have had motivation, but once the motivation has worn off, or if I'd had a particularly bad day at work, I'd end up making the same lifestyle choices that got me to almost 14 stone in the first place and then just give in. I am determined not to do that this time. And therein lies the difference.

My journey hasn't ended: far from it! There are still 305 days to go, with a lot of fat to get rid of and a lot of fit to gain: but I'm getting there. There will be more highs, more lows, more pics of 'me belly' and my food. I hope also, that some of you will continue to follow my journey, from fat to fit.

Thanks for reading.

Stay strong. Stay honest.

Sean.
