Day 54: The Night Before The Return.

As today has been a really busy day, I thought I would finish with a small blog because I need a rest from my overburdened mind. The night before the return to school is always fraught with nerves and knowing that sleep will be a luxury I won't have much of. Instead I will toss and turn, overthinking things until I finally get up around 3am. It always happens and is an affliction all teachers go through, I think.

Hopefully though, the fact that I have prepared thoroughly for tomorrow and I have marked what I want to mark, will help me to rest and sleep. But this is something I will not find out until tonight. Until then it will be a wait and see.

One thing I do know, though, is my commitment to exercise has made me join a gym with the wife, who is also starting so even more motivation to do it. Time is a factor and we both talked a lot about how we would fit things in and this is something that will always be a burden...time is short and a precious commodity. But we are starting tomorrow, so hopefully this will be the way of things.

We have also planned our meals for the week, including healthy puddings and a decrease in carbs so that the meals we have throughout the day are balanced, not as carb heavy as they have been. It was eye opening to see just how many carbs I had been eating throughout the week, and almost shows me why, even though I had been good, I had not lost weight. Our food intake throughout the week also includes at least 5 portions of veg and 3 portions of fruit a day. The exercise will be once every second day, or there abouts, this part isn't an exact science.

So hopefully I will begin to lose more, feel healthier and more energised, truly be exercising and become a new man. It's absolutely amazing having my wife by my side doing it too and is a massive motivation booster. I hope that your week will also be as good as mine is going to be!

Thanks for reading.

Stay strong. Stay honest.

Sean.
