It is almost 10.45pm and I've just finished for the night. I was going to leave tonight's blog and write it in the morning, but I feel that reflecting on your day is an important part of staying healthy.
I've been thinking about routines and how mine has helped me to continue down my healthy path. It has been my routine of getting up, taking the dog for a longer walk, eating something healthy for breakfast, regularly reflecting on my day, saying no to meat rubbish, that has meant that I am becoming healthier, losing weight and generally feeling better about myself as well as more energised.
I will go into more detail about this at the weekend, mainly because I'm tired and need to rest. I read, or listened to (I can't remember which) that a lack of sleep can hinder weight loss. However, I've also been told that cutting out carbs also means I won't lose weight, but 9lbs in 4 weeks tells me differently.
It is routine now for me to say no to the things that are going to stop me from being healthy, and this includes myself. I always want to do a long reflection on these blogs but I know that I need my rest and that spending time snuggling my wife and giving her some of my time is healthy for her and for me.
Therefore the rest of my thoughts on routines will have to wait for the weekend. As a last reflection of my day, I've walked over 15,000 steps, eaten well and healthily with my 5 a day done. I have had few cravings as I'm beginning to recognise when I'm thirsty, which mainly takes cravings away.
I hope you're managing to continue whatever healthy lifestyle helps you. Let me know anything you've tried that's worked for you and maybe will work for me.
Thanks for reading.
Stay strong. Stay honest.
Sean.
Not as well as I want to. Done one run do far but been too busy to get another one in. Maybe I'm just making excuses? Going to see if I can get another in tomorrow!
Brilliant! 9lbs down and healthy habits being formed. How are you getting on couch to 5k?
