Another short post today as I am trying to juggle work with reflections on my day. I have managed to keep well within my calories today, do over 20,000 steps and run 5k this morning in my bid to up the amount I run. I have now been running every day for 21 days and I only have 9 more days to go before my run for Cancer Research is over and I can have a day off. I would say that I want more than a day off, but I am actually enjoying the running and the motivation to get better times, to do longer distances and the health benefits it brings.
I have had a packet of crisps and a cheese sandwich for lunch today, but I have also had a protein cereal for breakfast and a protein yoghurt for lunch, so hopefully that will have repaired any muscle damage through the running. It also kept me feeling full for the day, which helped to control any craving I would normally have had.
Running in the morning really is setting me up for the day. When I first started running the two miles, I was hardly able to speak as I ran around my neighbourhood and was nearing 27 minutes for the 2 miles. My personal best now is 18 minutes 37 seconds for the two miles and this morning did 3 miles in 31 minutes 27 seconds. I am hoping that running further will help my 2 mile time. The good thing is, is that I now consider myself a runner, something I haven't been able to do for a number of years.
I am looking forward to tomorrow and another 3 miles under my belt. Well, looking forward to running 3 miles is probably an exaggeration...but you know what I mean. So until tomorrow, stay strong and stay safe.
Thanks for reading.
Sean.
