This is a short post today as, quite frankly, I am a little fed up of sitting in front of a computer at the moment. I have been sat in front of one for the last five days and my evening have been spent witting this blog, so I am sure that you are aware that sitting and writing and not moving can be a little daunting and oppressive at times.
So what did I have in my imaginary food diary today?
Breakfast: two rounds of toast with butter.
Mid morning snack: Cheese and crackers.
Lunch: 3 x cheese sandwiches and a packet of crisps.
Mid afternoon snack: 2 x packet of crisps and a caramel.
Dinner: 3 x chilli con carne wraps with cheese, wedges and dips. 2 x beer.
Pudding: chocolate eclair x 2
Double whisky.
Total calories: 3586
Excess calories 1086
Considering I've been told that to maintain a man has to eat 2500 calories a day, it actually fluctuates depending on your height and other measurements. Apparently my maintain weight is 2147, so I am even more over than I thought. All those things I really wanted at the times stated today. There is obviously a little bit of 'well you may have been hungry at that moment' but all the things I have put down is the sort of things I used to eat regularly. In fact, I'm surprised there hasn't been more takeaways on my list.
Actual daily diary then.
Breakfast: Yoghurt, strawberries and grapes.
Mid-morning snack: Banana
Lunch: tomato and basil soup and a round of brown seeded toast and butter.
Mid afternoon snack: packet of crisps (I didn't have any at lunch so that I could have them later)
Dinner: wrap and chilli con carne with salad.
Pudding: a thin slice of cake.
Calories: 1464 (which leaves me enough for some toast a little later)
I haven't got an accurate account of my steps today as I got a Samsung active watch half way through the day, so I think I have managed the steps I wanted to do, but I am not sure. I have certainly done a lot of airtime miles as I ring up parents to make sure that their children are doing well and offering help if I can. It is very, very tiring work.
I have been really grateful for the reactions parents have had to the phone calls and how hard they are trying to help their children through this. They are showing far more common sense and empathy than our current government, but I don't really want to politicise this blog, so that ia all I will say. I have enjoyed my walk again and I am looking forward to a new day tomorrow. Oh, and I finished my book and am on to another one. Yay!
So from me, until tomorrow, stay safe and stay strong.
Thanks for reading.
Sean.
